Tattoo Preparation

Want your tattoo to heal beautifully and the session to go smoothly? Here’s how to prep like a pro:

  • Get Your Beauty Sleep
No all-nighters or Netflix marathons. A well-rested body handles pain better—and nobody wants to nap through their own tattoo story.

  • Hydrate Like You Mean It
Water is your new best friend. Start drinking plenty 48 hours before. Hydrated skin = happier skin = happier artist. Bonus: your organs will thank you too.

  • Eat Like It’s Game Day
Come with a full belly, not an empty tank. A good meal helps keep your blood sugar stable, your energy up, and your chances of passing out nice and low. (Yes, really.)

  • Shower. Please.
We love you, but we love clean clients even more. Come fresh, skip the lotions, perfumes, or glitter bombs. Think “clean slate,” literally.

  • Skip the Booze & Party Favors
No alcohol or drugs at least 24–48 hours before. They thin your blood, mess with your pain tolerance, and you don’t want a wobbly memory of your epic new tattoo.

  • Moisturize (But Not Right Before)
Keep your skin soft and healthy in the days before—but give it a break on tattoo day. We’ll be working on skin, not sliding off it.

  • No Sunbathing the Canvas
Sunburned skin is a no-go. Keep the area covered and SPF’d if you’re heading outside. A crispy shoulder is not ideal for fresh ink.
